Our Story

Ray has been secretly playing music back in 1994. It wasn't until 2019 he stepped out onto a stage in honor of his late wife. Ray's son stepped on stage with him at the age of 14 (17).

11th Angel was developed in honor of Laura Quezada, Ray's late wife and Samuel's mama.

Ray's challenges

The loss of my hearing was noticed when I was in elementary school. Some doctors believe it could have been from meningitis. I received my first hearing aid when I was in middle school. It has been a challenge trying to hear on stage due to the loud music, but I make it work.

I can hear, just not well. It's like someone who wears glasses. They can still see just not well. I hear Charlie browns teacher when someone speaks to me in loud venues.

GROWING UP WITH MUSIC

Growing up around music from Mama y Papa. We didn’t know Samúel would grow up to be an amazing musician. Within a year of picking up an instrument, Samúel surpassed his dad. Samúel's dream is to become a touring and recording musician.

OUR ANGEL

Laura also grew up around music. She was in choir back in high school, played a little piano and some guitar. When Samuel was born, Laura would always sing to him. This made him smile and dance with laughter. Her presence was amazing to be around.

Laura was diagnosed with BRCA1 and triple negative cancer. This form of cancer is very aggressive and she fought for four years before passing away on June 11, 2011.

Laura loved angels and the number 11. So in honor of my late wife and Samuel’s mom. We have come up with 11th Angel.
